You are probably used to getting your daily blog updates using an RSS reader or through email. You may even haunt sites like Delicious, StumbleUpon, Popurls to get the best news stories of the day from the blog world.
Regator is an online aggregator that does just that for you. Regator’s free iPhone app brings the web’s best blogs to your iPhone.
You can search, browse, read and share high quality posts from thousands of hand picked blogs from the Internet.
Regator’s iPhone app is one of the best that lets you dig through such a wide array of subjects to the one you are interested in with such ease.
When you launch the app, you are presented with the most Popular posts of the day. From there, you can start to see popular posts on topics you are interested. And there are over 500 topics to browse through.
The next tab over shows you all ‘New’ posts in various topics. Again, you get the same topics navigation (by sliding across the screen) and filtering you have seen in the Popular tab.
The next tab over is Trends – powered by topics and filters as the other tabs you can see what is popular at the moment.
Directory is the next tab and you can find a listing of all the blogs in the Regator directory. Wink wink.. 2 of our blogs are already on Regator! (ShanKrila & Top iPhone Resource)
Regator Search is another awesome feature in the app. You have access to over 3 million posts that you can search from. With the hand picked nature of the blogs, I tend to think the results are much more relevant than Google Blogsearch.
Regator also lets you read posts in a built-in browser which supports landscape mode as well. Plus, you can share an interesting post with your friends via Facebook, Twitter or Email right from the app.
Last but not the least, when you are reading a story you are also shown ‘Related Stories’ just like we show here in TiR!
With Twitter and Facebook updates, I am relying less and less on my Google Reader (RSS reader) for my news from Blogs and popular sites. Regator has thrown another nail in that coffin for me as i can quickly find interesting news from my iPhone.
