One of the most awaited apps – Dropbox for iPhone has landed in App Store.

It’s been more than a month since it was submitted to Apples approval process and it has finally made it’s way into App Store!

dropbox-iphone-iconDropbox is a free iPhone App download.  Dropbox works with its web service that lets you keep files in multiple computers in sync as well as make it available via a web interface.

Dropbox iPhone app lets you access those files on your iPhone now! One catch is that Dropbox iPhone app requires iPhone OS 3.1. If you are waiting for iPhone 3G or 3GS 3.1 jailbreak, you might have to wait a little bit before you could use it.

Dropbox has a free 2GB account that you could sign up for or you could Try Dropbox Professional as well.

One of the first apps you would look to install in your iPhone or iPod Touch would be a good weather app. The native weather app is nice but it lacks the details one might have gotten used to the weather relates sites.

I have tried and used many Weather iPhone apps but I have zeroed in on the Weatherbug Free iPhone App at the moment.

Weatherbug has a simple, intuitive and neat interface. After you set up the locations you are interested in checking weather for, you get a nice clean white interface showing the current conditions.

The main focus is on the the current temperature and the wind conditions. The first screen is devided into 3 sections if you looked at it. The top section showing the location can be swiped to the side to quickly switch locations (utpo 10 in free version).

The middle section showing current conditions can be tapped to get even more detailed information on the current data. And you will see an Alert in red under the current conditions if there were any active National Weather Service alerts.

The bottom section shows either tonight’s condition or tomorrows conditions and you can tap on it to see detailed forecast just like you hit th’Forecast‘ tab at the bottom.

The bottom tabs can take you to Conditions, Forecast, Maps, Video and Camera.

You can pinch and zoom in weather maps. You can also see daily national weather outlook video. Plus, you can see live weather conditions through cameras in your area. Plus, you can play most recent camera shots like a mini video of the conditions as well.

Weatherbug is available as Free ad supported version as well as a Weatherbug Elite ($0.99) version. Weatherbug Elite is completely ad free, has 6 additional map layers, unlimited saved locations, etc.

If you are looking for a good and capable weather app, Weatherbug will definitely fit the bill.

The excitement of the iPhone finally getting multimedia messaging, is overshadowed by the Google Voice drama

After a long wait AT&T finally rolled out support for the multimedia messaging service (MMS) protocol. This means that iPhones can at last send pictures, video, and audio recordings like users of other smartphones.

IPhones have actually had MMS support built in since June when the iPhone OS v3.0 was released. AT&T, however, kept the functionality disabled for fear it would overload and break its network. Meanwhile, AT&T upgraded much of its network and built extra capacity to handle the service.

On September 22, early last week, it sent a free SMS text message to inform its customers that it would be rolling out the update on Friday. The message read, “AT&T Free Msg: Picture & video messaging (MMS) will be available for iPhone on 9/25. While we prepare your account for MMS capability, the current ‘view my message’ experience will be turned off but your ability to send and receive text messages will not be affected.”

Users began receiving the update when they synced their phones with iTunes on Friday. The update wasn’t without its problems — most of which appear to be software/firmware related. Some users found that their attempts to send MMS failed. Apple and AT&T suggested users first try to reset their networks settings. A more extreme fix involves selecting your iPhone’s settings in iTunes and choosing “General > Reset All Settings > enter your pin if prompted”. That fix appears to get MMS working, but you may have to reenter your Passcode, Wi-Fi passwords. You may also lose your VPN connections and remembered Wi-Fi networks. A perk, though, is that your apps are arranged alphabetically, something previously not easily done.
