Com2Us is one of my favorite game developers after playing their popular games like Homerun Battle 3D, Sniper vs Sniper, Inotia: A Wanderer of Luone etc.
Heavy Gunner 3D is Com2us’s first game in 2010 and is definitely a great contender in iPhone games.
Heavy Gunner 3D is essentially an intergalactic shooter game set in a futuristic scene where you man a turret with Gatling guns, EMPs, missiles and lot of cool weaponry.
You play with a full 360 degree panoramic view with 3D-modeled enemy spacecrafts coming at you from different directions. You can see them in a little map and turn your iPhone to shoot down alien invaders.
You have 2 control pads for each thumb and you can control each gun independently. As easy as the controls seem it takes practice to individually use the guns at various targets simultaneously.
Heavy Gunner 3D comes loaded with 35 missions, a survival mode and 50 achievements giving you a good amount of playing time. You can replay all the levels in 3 levels of difficulty.
Plus, with the 8 different weapons you get 130 possible upgrade combinations though in-app purchases.
My first impressions with the game – it is a lot of fun to play as shoot ‘em up type of games are the kind I like in iPhone games besides word games. The text are a little hard to read due to the futuristic look especially in the weapons page.
The graphics is the massive plus point as with any com2us games and Heavy Gunner 3D doesn’t disappoint there.
As you move through levels you gain points and you can upgrade your weapons with the points you gain.
I have always enjoyed the online components in Homerun Battle 3D and Sniper vs Sniper but Heavy Gunner doesn’t have one. But, you can unlock Infinite Challenge modes where you will keep getting a barrage of alien spacecraft to shoot them down.
Heavy Gunner 3D is an exciting addition to the shooter iPhone games and definitely worth a look for just $2.99.
